Weekly Match Notes

FRESNO, Calif. --- The No. 67 Fresno State women's tennis team is set to hit the road again this weekend as they travel to Reno, Nev. to take on Nevada at 11 a.m. on Saturday. This match marks the Bulldogs' first-ever Mountain West Conference Match.

About the Wolf Pack
Nevada (4-3) will host Fresno State in its only home match of the year on Saturday. The Wolf Pack has recorded four straight wins including back-to-back 5-2 wins over UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton last weekend in Fullerton, Calif.

The 'Dogs have dominated the all-time series against Nevada losing only once in 20 meetings (FS leads 19-1). The teams met last year in which Fresno State cruised to a 6-1 victory in Fresno.

McQueen Leading The Way
Senior Melissa McQueen leads the 'Dogs this season in singles with wins in six of the ten dual matches. She has won five out of her last six matches including two dominant performances in the Bulldogs home opening weekend. McQueen's performance in her final home opener garnered notice from the conference office who recognized her as the Mountain West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Feb. 27.

Finding the Perfect Fit
Coach Stotland has been given the difficult task of finding the perfect lineup as his team runs very deep. Eight different 'Dogs have seen action in both singles and doubles, with seven of the eight playing at multiple positions in the singles lineup. Coach Stotland has described this situation as `difficult, but a very good problem to have'.

Agrawal Picks Up Wins
In the home opener, sophomore Aishwarya Agrawal got the monkey off of her back and recorded her first singles win of the dual match season. Agrawal has played in the top two spots all year and has faced more ranked players than any other 'Dog in the toughest two spots. She also added a win the day after the home opener giving her a two match win streak going into this weekend's action against the Wolf Pack.

Beat By the Best
So far this season, the 'Dogs are 6-4 in dual matches. Their only losses have come against teams that were ranked in the top 33 of the ITA rankings and have all occurred on the road. Two of the losses came against two of the top four teams in the country including a loss to No. 2 UCLA who finished as the runner-ups in the ITA National Women's Indoor Championship
