The San Diego State women's tennis team is set to open its 2012 fall schedule on Friday as it plays host to the SDSU Fall Classic I at the Aztec Tennis Center. The annual tournament runs through Sunday and will feature six teams from around the country.

Among the teams competing in the three-day event is cross-town rival San Diego, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, Cal State Northridge, North Texas and host Aztecs. The weekends include five singles brackets and three doubles draws.

Senior Julia Wais enters the competition after earning a preseason singles ranking from the ITA. Wais is ranked No. 90 and marks the first time she has earned preseason singles rankings. Last season, Wais and teammate Alicia Aguilar made an appearance in the preseason doubles rankings.

Admission is free and fans are encouraged to park in PS 5 on the corner of 55th Street and Montezuma Road. Parking is $1 per hour and is always required in PS 5. The Aztec Tennis Center is located just beyond Tony Gwynn Stadium, Aztec Softball Stadium and the Aztec Aquaplex on the northwest edge of campus.
