Lawanson Adds Two Junior College Players to 2013 Class
Jan. 10, 2013
RENO, Nev. – Two junior-college players have committed to joining the University of Nevada volleyball team in 2013, head coach Ruth Lawanson announced on Thursday.
Setter Kadie Miller (Las Vegas, Nev./Feather River College) and outside hitter Kinsey Minter (Glendale, Ariz./Glendale Community College) will be on the court for the Wolf Pack this Fall after starring at junior colleges for two and one years, respectively.
“Both players will add maturity to a very young Wolf Pack team,” Lawanson said.
Miller was the 2010 Golden Valley MVP, helping the Golden Eagles to an undefeated (10-0) record and a conference championship. Minter was also a part of a conference championship team at her most recent school, leading the Vaqueros to a Western State Conference title a season ago.
“Kinsey brings tremendous athletic ability to our team,” Lawanson said. “She will add depth to our outside hitters while Kadie brings a good knowledge of the game along with her speed.”
With six student-athletes committing to Nevada during the early signing period, the team will have at least eight new faces when practice opens in the Fall.
