Colorado State Volleyball Spring Prospectus | Spring Tournament Schedule

The Colorado State women’s volleyball team will host a spring tournament Saturday at Moby Arena. Along with the Rams, the tournament will feature Air Force, Denver, New Mexico, Northern Colorado and Wyoming.

The scrimmages are free for fans to attend, and doors will open at 8:30 a.m., with the first matches beginning at 9 a.m.

Pool A consists of CSU, New Mexico and UNC while Pool B is made up of Air Force, Denver and Wyoming. Pool play will feature matches at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Multiple nets will be set up, and matches will be played simultaneously.

The Rams will face New Mexico at 9 a.m. before taking on intra-state rival UNC at 12:30 p.m. Each match will go to three sets.

“I think it’s a good field,” Head Coach Tom Hilbert said. “Every team is pretty good, and we’ll get to play at least eight sets against some quality volleyball teams.”

The championship round is scheduled for 2 p.m. There, the No. 1 seed from each pool will play each other, while the No. 2 seeds and No. 3 seeds, respectively, from both pools will play, as well.

Saturday will mark the third spring tournament for the Rams. CSU also competed in Colby, Kan. (March 30) and Greeley, Colo. (April 6). Spring practices began on March 11, and will run through May 3.

Colorado State has been to 18 consecutive NCAA tournaments, the seventh-longest active streak in the nation. In each of those seasons, the Rams have won at least 20 matches, and have captured 12 regular-season Mountain West titles and five conference tournament championships since 1999. CSU returns 10 letterwinners from last year’s squad that went 21-8.
