Mountain West Announces Women's Volleyball Player of the Week - September 10, 2012
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State middle blocker Megan Plourde has earned Mountain West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors for matches played from Sept. 3-9, 2012. It is the third weekly honor of her career.
Plourde, a 6-3 senior from Somerset, Wisc., led the Rams to a 3-0 record and earned Most Valuable Player honors at the Rams Volleyball Classic last week. CSU defeated No. 12 Pepperdine, 3-0, to start the week, followed by 3-1 wins over Florida International and New Mexico State to claim the tournament title. Plourde recorded a team-high .421 attack percentage against Pepperdine with 10 kills and two block assists. Against FIU, Plourde led the Rams with 15 kills on .429 hitting with nine total blocks. Plourde tallied her fifth career double-double against NMSU with 13 kills and 13 blocks. Her 13 blocks ranks sixth in CSU history for a four-set match.
For the week, Plourde averaged 3.45 kills and 2.18 blocks per set, while hitting .449. She averaged 4.64 points per set over 11 total sets.
