This Week - The tournament portion of Nevada’s schedule has concluded, as the Wolf Pack returns to the Virginia Street Gym to face two opponents ... The Pack will compete in its final non-conference match on Wednesday night, as the Texas Tech Red Raiders come to VSG at 7 p.m. ... The second Mountain West Conference event for any Nevada program will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday night, as the San Diego State Aztecs come to town ... Approximately two hours earlier, the Nevada football team will kick off against Hawai’i to mark the first event in conference play ... Tech has an 11-3 mark coming into the match ... San Diego State sits at 8-4 and swept Brown its last time out.

Last Week - Nevada returned to the road to face three opponents at the Utah Classic in Salt Lake City ... The Wolf Pack met Utah Valley University and Utah on Friday, followed by a meeting with Cal Poly on Saturday ... Utah Valley upended Nevada 3-1 in the morning on Friday ... The Wolverines were led by McKenna Tait on offense ... Tait had 11 kills ... Utah got Nevada by a final score of 3-0 ... Janelle Batista led the Wolf Pack to a 3-1 win over Cal Poly to close out the weekend.
Promotions Corner - After Nevada’s tilt with the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Wednesday, Umpqua Bank will provide an ice cream truck for all fans … At Nevada’s match with San Diego State on Saturday, Domino’s Pizza will provide free pizza for Nevada students.

Boom Goes Batista - In Nevada’s last match, Senior middle blocker Janelle Batista went off for 19 kills while committing only three hitting errors against the Cal Poly Mustangs. The total was not only a season high for Batista, but for any Wolf Pack player in 2012.
Two-Way Player - Tessa Lea’ea has done the majority of her damage this season on the offensive side of the ball, but against the Cal Poly Mustangs, the sophomore combined a solid hitting night with a dominating defensive performance. Her second double-double of the season was made up of 13 kills and 13 blocks.
Contributions – Grace Anxo, Bonnie Paul and Kelly Chang have all chipped in to help the Pack this season. Anxo has started each match and leads Nevada with 13 service aces. She also has 92 digs, 77 kills and 19 total blocks. Paul has 71 kills, 21 total blocks and eight service aces in 42 sets. Chang earned all-tournament libero honors at the Utah Classic and has 91 digs off the bench this season.
Holt New Direction – Junior setter Dana Holt is getting her first crack at running the offense in 2012 and is doing so in fine form. The Yorba Linda, Calif. native has recorded at least 20 assists in 10 of Nevada’s 12 matches. Four matches have seen Holt post at least 30, while she has passed the ball for a kill at least 40 times on three occasions. One of her 40-assist performances came against CSU Bakersfield, when she had a career-high 43. She has 366 assists in 43 sets for an average of 8.51 per set and a .310 set percentage. That is up from .297 a week ago.
