Mountain West Announces Women's Volleyball Player of the Week - October 22, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming junior middle blocker Reese Plante has earned Mountain West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors for matches played from Oct. 15-21, 2012.  It is the first Mountain West weekly honor on the season for the Fort Collins, Colo., native.

Plante helped the Cowgirls record their first back-to-back victories in Conference play this season with wins over Air Force and Boise State last week. On Thursday, Plante recorded eight kills and no errors while hitting a season-high .727 in a 3-0 sweep of the Falcons. She also tallied four block assists. Against the Broncos on Saturday, Plante registered 10 kills with no errors on 22 total attacks for a .455 hitting percentage. She added five block assists and one service ace in the 3-1 victory.

For the week, Plante averaged 2.57 kills and 1.28 blocks per set, while hitting .545. She averaged 3.36 points per set over seven total sets.
