Three Mountain West Student-Athletes Earn 2015 AVCA All-America Honors


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Three Mountain West volleyball student-athletes were named to the 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Team today. Mountain West Player of the Year Adrianna Culbert, a senior setter/opposite hitter from Colorado State, was named to the AVCA All-America Third Team. Boise State teammates Sarah Baugh (Sr., S) and Sierra Nobley (So., OH) received Honorable Mention.

Culbert made her third consecutive appearance on the AVCA national honors list, moving up to the Third Team from honorable mention. Culbert becomes the 13th Ram to be named to the first, second or third team. The 13 Rams have earned a total of 15 All-America honors with Culbert being the fifth selection in the past five years.

Baugh and Nobley are the second and third Broncos to receive All-America recognition. They join Liz Harden (2012) as honorable mention selections.

All three student-athletes were named to the All-Mountain West and AVCA Pacific North All-Region Teams.

This marks the 12th consecutive season that the Mountain West has had three or more student-athletes recognized with All-America honors. Since 1999, MW student-athletes have garnered All-America status 68 times.

Culbert will be recognized on Friday, December 18 at the AVCA All-America/Players of the Year Banquet in Omaha, Nebraska.
