COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Two Mountain West baseball student-athletes were named to the 2015 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-America Team today. San Diego State junior Ty France was named to the First Team, while Nevada senior Austin Byler was named to the Second Team.

Byler, France and Fresno State junior Taylor Ward were also named to the Preseason All-America Teams this morning, with Byler and France collecting First Team honors and Ward named to the Second Team.

France, a third baseman, and Byler, a first baseman, are two of the four returning first team All-Mountain West players in 2015. France is the top returning hitter in the league at .356, while Byler hit .326 and led the MW in home runs with 14. Byler turned down a minor league opportunity (ninth round pick in the 2014 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals) to return to the Wolf Pack for his senior season. Ward, a second team All-MW selection last season, spent the summer of 2014 as a catcher on the 2014 USA Baseball Collegiate National team and hit .320 for the Bulldogs last season.

The 2015 collegiate baseball season begins Friday, Feb. 13.
