COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four teams remain in the hunt for the 2015 Mountain West Women’s Soccer Championship crown as the tournament shifts to the semifinal round on Thursday, November 5. In the first semifinal match, No. 2 seed San José State (10-7-2) battles No. 3 seed New Mexico (10-8-1) at 4 p.m. PT. In the nightcap, top-seed San Diego State (14-4-0) goes up against No. 5 seed Colorado College (9-11-1) at 7 p.m. PT.
New Mexico ousted No. 6 seed UNLV in the quarterfinals, 2-0. The Lobos will look to avenge a 2-1 overtime setback to San José State on Oct. 16 in Albuquerque. After downing No. 4 seed Wyoming, 1-0, in the quarterfinals, Colorado College will face No. 1 seed San Diego State for the second time in the last two weeks. The Aztecs won the first meeting between the two institutions, 3-1, in Colorado Springs on Oct. 25.
Thursday’s winners advance to Saturday’s championship tilt, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT atop the SDSU Sports Deck on the campus of San Diego State.
