Zheng, Caplan & Miller And Boise State Relay Earn All-America Honors at 2017 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving National Championships
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada junior Sharae Zheng earned two All-America honors at the 2017 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, March 15-18, at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Zheng finished sixth in the 1-Meter diving competition and seventh in the 3-Meter springboard event.
Air Force senior Genevieve Miller and San Diego State junior Alexandra Caplan picked up honorable mention All-America accolades for their performances. Miller finished 16th in the 500-yard freestyle race and 13th in the 1,650-yard freestyle. She had to participate in a swim-off to advance to the 500 free consolation final. Caplan placed 15th in the 3-Meter diving competition. The Boise State 200-yard freestyle relay team of Brittany Aoyama, Abbey Sorensen, Katelyn Martin and Ally Kleinsorgen earned honorable mention All-America honors as well with their 12th-place finish.
The All-America times and scores earned four Mountain West teams points in the meet. Nevada was the top MW finisher with 25 points, followed by Boise State with 10, Air Force with five and San Diego State with two.
