COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State senior Matthew Sutherland has been named the Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Week. There is no MW Freshman of the Week selection.
The weekly honor is the second of Sutherland’s career and first since April 15, 2021.

• Tied for third at the RE Lamkin Invitational at the San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, California.
• Shot an 8-under-par 206, opening with a 4-under 68 and a 3-under 69 before finishing with a 1-under 71 to cap his second straight top-10 finish.
• Helped Fresno State tie for second in a field that included eight top-50 squads and three teams ranked in the top 25. Fellow Mountain West squads Colorado State, No. 19 New Mexico, San Diego State and Wyoming were among the 16-team field.
• Helped the Bulldogs turn in a team score of 18-under 846 and jump six spots in this week’s national rankings.
