COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada’s Matheo Coupu was tabbed the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while fellow Wolf Pack member Rémy Trégourès was named the MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

On the women’s side, San José State swept the MW weekly honors, as senior Irena Muradyan was named the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week and Duru Durgun nabbed the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week nod.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MATHEO COUPU, NEVADA

Senior, Treillieres, France/Centre Educatif Nantais pour Sportif

  • Finished the weekend with a 4-1 record and one unfinished match.
  • Logged a ranked victory over No. 114 Torres from UC Davis in straight sets at No. 1, 7-6, 6-3.
  • Posted three doubles wins with teammate Youssef Kadiri in the No. 1 flight.

  • Posted a 4-2 combined week in singles and doubles.
  • Logged two straight-sets No. 5 singles wins and two 6-4 victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions on the week.

  • Helped the Spartans to a 3-0 week with wins over UC Davis (4-2), San Francisco (4-0) and Santa Clara (4-0).
  • Posted two No. 2 singles wins over San Francisco (6-1, 6-1) and Santa Clara (6-1, 6-3).
  • In the No. 1 doubles flight, notched a 6-2 over Santa Clara.

  • Against UC Davis, logged a straight-sets win in the No. 6 singles spot (6-2, 6-3).
  • Against San Francisco, recorded a No. 6 singles win (6-1,6-2) and a No. 3 doubles victory (6-1).
  • Against Santa Clara, registered a 6-0, 6-1 singles win in the No. 6 singles spot along with a No. 3 doubles 6-2 win.
