FRESNO, Calif. – It was a historic day at Copper River Country Club in Fresno, California, for Colorado State women’s golf. The Rams won their second straight tournament and third of the year while Andrea Bergsdottir picked up her second individual medalist of the season.

The three wins set a program record as the most in an individual season by the team, while Bergsdottir matches the program’s single-season record for wins with Mayumi Montoyama (2001-02) and also ties Montoyama and Lynette Duran for most career wins.

Colorado State and the rest of the field closed out the second round Tuesday morning with CSU holding a three-stroke lead. Second-place Cal Poly challenged the Rams throughout the final round, but both teams shot matching 1-under, 287s, giving Colorado State the win by four strokes.

Bergsdottir entered the final round tied for sixth at even par, three shots off the lead. Her bogey-free 68 moved her up the leaderboard to win the individual medalist by two strokes. The 68 tied for the lowest round of the tournament.

Panchalika Arphamongkol earned her second straight top-10 finish tying for eighth. She shot a 2-over 218 for the tournament closing it with a 74 on Tuesday.

Sofia Torres earned a top-25 finish thanks to her 1-under, 71 in the final round to tie for 22nd.

CSU looks to continue its strong play when they tee it up at the Chattanooga Classic, April 7-9 in the final regular season tournament of the year.
