COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State sophomore Leia Chung has been named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week, while Fresno State’s Amelia Garibaldi and San Diego State’s Emma Narita share MW Women’s Golf Freshman of the Week honors.

The weekly honor is Chung’s fourth overall and second this season. She also has a monthly MW honor to her credit in her career. It’s the first weekly honor for Garibaldi and the second straight for Narita.

GOLFER OF THE WEEK
LEIA CHUNG, BOISE STATE
Sophomore, Wahiawa, Hawai‘i/Leilehua HS
• Finished second at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
• Matched her career-best score with a 6-under-par 210, opening with a career-low 6-under 66 and a 2-under 70 to hold a share of the lead after two rounds of play. Her 54-hole total of 210 tied for the second-best mark in program history, while her 66 in the first round matched the third-best score in program history.
• Turned in her fifth top-five finish of the season.
• Helped Boise State tie for third in the 21-team field, which included six teams ranked in the top 100 and five Mountain West squads.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
AMELIA GARIBALDI, FRESNO STATE
Stockton, California/Lodi HS
• Tied for 16th at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
• Finished with a 2-over-par 218.
• Fired a career-best 5-under 67 in the final round to vault 35 places in the individual standings.
• Helped Fresno State to a 10th-place finish in the 21-team field, which included six teams ranked in the top 100 nationally and five MW teams.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
EMMA NARITA, SAN DIEGO STATE
Tokyo, Japan/Gakushuin HS
• Tied for 16th at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
• Finished with a 2-over-par 218, matching her second-best score in relation to par this season.
• Closed the tournament with a 2-under 70 in the final round to jump 13 spots in the individual standings.
• Helped San Diego State tie for third in the 21-team field, which included six teams ranked in the top 100 and five Mountain West squads. The Aztecs’ finish was their highest of the season.
