NAPA, Calif.—San José State women’s golfer Kajsa Arwefjäll topped off a memorable week with her second collegiate title as she shot a 7-under 209 for three rounds at the Chevron Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Resort & Spa. The Spartans jumped up one spot to finish fourth in the team standings.

  • Arwefjäll shot a 2-under 70 in the final round to tie for medalist honors with USC’s Catherine Park.
  • For the second consecutive round, Arwefjäll was one hole away from having a clean card. She made three birdies, 14 pars and just one bogey.
  • The win caps off a 10-day stretch that saw Arwefjäll finish tied for 26th at the Augusta Women’s National Amateur before flying back to the Bay Area Sunday morning to join the San José State team at the Chevron Silverado Showdown.
  • This is Arwefjäll’s second collegiate title after she started the 2022-23 season with a win at the USF Intercollegiate.
  • Arwefjäll led the field in par-4 scoring at 6-under and was second in birdies made with 15.
  • She is the first Spartan player to win an individual title at the Silverado Showdown. Natasha Andrea Oon finished second in 2019, and Antonia Malate was third in 2022.
  • The Spartans posted the second-lowest score of the third round with an even-par 288 and moved up one spot to finish fourth at 13-over 877.
  • Darae Chung shot a 2-under 70 and finished tied for 38th at 7-over 223. She, too, almost had a clean card with three birdies, one bogey and 14 pars.
