COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State’s Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice was named the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.

On the women’s side, San Diego State’s Yasmine Kabbaj was tabbed the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Nevada’s Mia Miranda garnered the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week nod.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

EUGENIO GONZALEZ FITZMAURICE, SAN DIEGO STATE

Sophomore, San Diego, California/California Pacific Charter School

  • Helped the Aztecs to a 2-0 week with wins over Air Force (5-2) and New Mexico (4-3).
  • Posted a 4-0 combined record for the week in No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles.
  • Against Air Force, logged a 6-2, 6-0 win in singles and a 6-1 win in doubles.
  • Against New Mexico, recorded a 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 6-3 win in singles and a 7-6 (7-4) in doubles.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

  • Helped San Diego State to a 2-0 record with wins over Air Force (4-0) and New Mexico (4-3).
  • Registered a 4-0 record at No. 1 singles and doubles.
  • Against Air Force, posted a straight-sets 6-2, 6-1 victory in singles and a 6-3 win on the doubles court.
  • Against New Mexico, battled to a 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-2 win on the singles court and a 6-2 victory in doubles.
